Terms of Service

Here is what you need to know for a smooth clean. If anything here is unclear, text or call us and we will explain.

The short version

  • We bring the cleaning supplies and equipment.
  • Every booking has a 2-hour arrival window. If you pick 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM, that is when we may arrive. If we are running late, our team will call or text you.
  • Cancel or reschedule for free before 5 PM the day before your clean. After that, a $70 fee applies.
  • If something is not right, tell us within 24 hours and we will make it right.

1. Cancellation fee

We reserve a time just for you and often cannot fill it at the last minute. If you cancel after 5 PM the day before your service, or if our team cannot get into your home (a lockout), we may charge a $70 fee. This applies to one-time and recurring cleanings. If you will not be home, please give us entry instructions when you book.

2. Supplies and equipment

We provide products and nearly all the equipment needed to clean your home. Your home needs running water and working electric outlets. If we cannot get water or power, we may charge the $70 fee. For safety, our teams do not climb past the second step of a step stool.

If you want us to use a specific product (for example a green cleaner, bleach, or a stainless steel cleaner), leave it out and add the request to your booking notes. We are not responsible for damage caused by products you provide.

3. Cleaning time and pricing

Your first clean is quoted for a home in normal condition. If your home needs more than the quote covers, our team or our office will let you know before doing anything. You can then choose to have the team focus on the areas that matter most to you, or extend the visit at our hourly rate. We may also adjust the price or decline the service if the condition of the home is much worse than what was described when you booked.

4. Great Clean Guarantee

If something was missed, tell us within 24 hours of your clean. A phone call, text, email, or survey reply is enough. We will come back, inspect, and re-clean the areas that missed the mark as soon as our schedule allows. We will make every effort to be reasonable, but we cannot re-clean an area if there is evidence that family members, contractors, or pets made it dirty again after the visit, such as newly washed floors or mirrors.

5. Billing

We place a hold on your card the day before your service. You are charged the evening after your clean. Some banks show the hold as a charge. It is only a pre-authorization to confirm the card is valid.

6. Breakage

Our teams are trained to handle items in your home carefully, but accidents can happen. If something is damaged, we will let you know, by talking with you or leaving a note, and follow up. We handle each situation case by case. Higher-value items are typically handled through the team's insurance. In other cases we usually make it right with a credit.

Please report any damage within 24 hours so we can look into it quickly. If you have an item that cannot be replaced, such as an antique or something with sentimental value, tell us before the service begins. We may choose not to touch it.

7. Valuables

The best protection is precaution. Please do not leave cash or valuables out. If we see valuables, we clean around them. If you believe something is missing, contact us right away and file a report with your local police.

8. Hiring our cleaners directly

We put a lot of work into finding and vetting good cleaners. If you directly hire (on the books or for cash) anyone who currently works with us, or who has within the previous 2 years, you agree to pay us a $500 referral fee. If we have to pursue this fee, you also agree to cover our reasonable legal costs.

9. Independent cleaning teams

Spekless Cleaning connects clients with independent cleaners and cleaning teams. We provide scheduling, quality standards, and support. The cleaning itself is done by independent contractors, and Spekless Cleaning is not their employer.

10. Safety and the right to refuse service

Our teams may leave, or decline to start, if the home is unsafe or they feel threatened. That can include mold, hoarding, unusual buildup, an extremely dirty home, or a request that is not reasonable for the booking, such as a cleanup after a large party. In these cases the $70 fee may apply. For heavy or oversized items, our cleaners do not lift or move heavy furniture.

11. Pets

We are happy to work around pets. If a pet is anxious or aggressive and becomes a safety concern, our cleaners may leave. If they leave before finishing, we will charge for the work that was done. If they leave because of an aggressive pet, the $70 fee may apply.

12. Clutter and dishes

Please pick up non-decorative items from floors and from furniture that is not normally used for storage. As a rule of thumb, our cleaners spend about 60 seconds tidying each room, then stack remaining clutter in one spot and clean around it. Please do your best to wash dishes and utensils before we arrive. If there is a large amount of hand washing, a surcharge may be added.

13. Results we cannot guarantee

We cannot guarantee results for mini-blind, grout, chandelier, or vaulted ceiling fan cleaning. We do not provide mold remediation and are not liable for mold-related risks in your home. We are not responsible for restoring severely worn, stained, or mildewed caulking and grout.

14. Parking

If your home only has paid parking within a 3 block radius, we may ask to add the cost of parking to your service.
